Tortillas

Recipe:

3 cups flour

2 teaspoons Baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

2 Tablespoon shortening

About 1 ¼ cup of warm water

Combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in the shortening with a fork, knives or your hands. Mix in the warm water. Knead for 5 minutes. Cut into 20 even pieces. Roll into balls. Place in a ziplock for 20 minutes. Roll out very thin and cook on stove top. Makes the corn tortilla size.

Recipe from our friend Julie Gardner.

Changes:

Made 1/2 recipe, turned it into 8 tortillas. Cooked on med- high heat for 30 sec to 1 min on each side- until the little brown dots start showing up.

Review:
Rating 7. Good tortillas- taste like Mission. Not a must make like bread.

Next Time:
Make full batch and make regular size tortillas.
